  • Comments Thread For: Anthony Ogogo Pumped To Be on Abraham-Stieglitz Bill

Olympic bronze medallist Anthony Ogogo will make his return to professional boxing on July 18 after a year out with injury.

The 26-year-old middleweight is (7-0-0-KO4) last fought almost exactly 12 months ago when he stopped Wayne Reed in five rounds at the Echo Arena in Liverpool - but he'll be back in action on the Arthur Abraham v Robert Stieglitz undercard in Germany.

Ogogo returned to the Liverpool arena to join the Sky Sports commentary on June 26 and revealed he has signed a co-promotional deal with German promoters the Sauerland Brothers, who are yet to announce his comeback opponent.

Hopefully Ogogo and Khytrov could meet in the future. I can't wait for Ievgen to give this guy a beating! Revenge for the Olympics. What a robbery that was.

No it wasn't. It was a very close fight. Could have gone either way, but I can tell from your username you are clearly a biased, Ukrainian tool.

It wasn't a close fight at all! No way that bum Ogogo won. Khytrov knocked him down twice. Khytrov is going to give him a beating in the pros and I can't wait. That POS cost Ievgen the Gold Medal.

          Here you go you bum

It was a clear robbery in favor of the home fighter.

Most definitely, not only did they rob him in that fight they might have robbed him out of the Gold Medal. I might be getting ahead of myself, but Khytrov was the best boxer in the Middleweight division at those Olympic Games. I might be biased lol.

This Khytrov vs Murata. Murata was the eventual Gold Medalist and to me he couldn't compete with Khtryov here:

Murata held his own but it was mostly Khytrov outworking him and after round one, Murata was just taking a beating imo.
Luckily for Khytrov three out of the four medalists turned pro and are around his weight class. As a Khytrov fan, I can't wait for him to beat all three of them in the pros. Revenge for what happened in the Olympics, is the least he could do lol.

Murata was close to being stopped in that fight from the world games.

I don't think we'll see Khytrov/Ogogo have a rematch in the next few years at any rate. Ogogo is with GB and Khytrov with Haymon.

It will be good to see him back, he's a talented fighter.

I'm interested in seeing how this co-promotional deal comes along.

I forgot Ogogo was co-promoted by Golden Boy. Falcão is Top Rank so that fight may not happen either. One way or another Khytrov will find them and beat them. Ogogo and Falcão are not that good imo so they might lose before having to face Khytrov. Real shame, we need good Brazilian boxers. Everton Lopes could make something happen though.

WAR KHYTROV!! Can't wait for that sweet sweet revenge.
