Comments Thread For: McCory: Maidana Showed How To Solve Broner Problem

Former world champion and Sky Sports commentator Glenn McCrory has no idea which direction Adrien Broner will take after suffering his second career defeat on June 20th, via twelve round decision, to Shawn Porter at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The former three division champion suffered his first career defeat in December of 2013, when he faced Marcos Maidana in the ring. Broner was the favorite, but Maidana came out swinging, scored two knockdowns in the contest, and applied pressure all night long.

Broner, who was welterweight champion at the time of the Maidana defeat, dropped down to 140-pounds. The fight with Porter took place at a catch-weight of 144.

I totally agreed on this article. Maidana solved the problem by been the aggressor therefore the key to win against Broner is to apply pressure from the opening belt and you get the solution to the problem.

i disagree because after the knock down. broner controlled the fight and won about 5 rounds in a row until his inexperience got him caught and never recovered.he got hurt when the ref were seperating them or right at the begining of the rounds.broner is a jackass and is his own problem that carries over in the ring.

Keep in mind this McRory guy was the same person who said the only reason Lee Selby isn't ranked no.1 in his weight class is because he hasn't faced Lomachenko, Russell and Walters (assuming that if he faces them he'd obviously beat them).

maidana is a crafty animal. sledgehammers coming from all angles and yet boxing right in front of you, setting traps and jabbing your face off.

I agree Maidana under Robert Garcia has become an elite PUncher boxer. only the elite will be able to beat this version and even then its a 50/50 fight.

McCrory is also the same guy who once said, live on SkySports, that Broner was better than Mayweather after he beat DeMarco.

Anyway, Paulie did what Maidana did and almost won, he just didn't have the size or power to push Broner back consistently.

it was always an easy solution. You just have to be better than a fat midget like Gavin Rees!

Why are people getting this poor guy's name wrong all of a sudden?

We had that Radio Raheem from Seconds out interviewing him the other day "Hello guys im here with the great Glenn Mccory, How you doing Mr Mccory?" I bet Glenn wanted to give him an uppercut and now Boxing Scene?
