Trainer Robert Garcia was ringside at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, when Adrien Broner (30-2, 22KOs) suffered his second career defeat at the hands of Shawn Porter.
Broner, a former three division world champion, took the fight at a catch-weight of 144-pounds. Leading up to the contest, there was a lot of trash talking - mostly coming from Broner, who stated over and over that Porter would be "easy work." He was able to score a knockdown in the twelfth round, but Porter controlled the action and his workrate was much higher in every round.
