Comments Thread For: Garcia: Loss Hurt Broner's Marketability, He Can Recover

Trainer Robert Garcia was ringside at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, when Adrien Broner (30-2, 22KOs) suffered his second career defeat at the hands of Shawn Porter.

Broner, a former three division world champion, took the fight at a catch-weight of 144-pounds. Leading up to the contest, there was a lot of trash talking - mostly coming from Broner, who stated over and over that Porter would be "easy work." He was able to score a knockdown in the twelfth round, but Porter controlled the action and his workrate was much higher in every round.

Broner clearly underestimated Porter. His bravado blinded him before & during the fight and made him look like an idiot post-fight. When will this kid grow up?

Here's the problem with Broner can't beat the elites at 147 and is to fat to make 140 unless Haymon invents a new weight class of 144

They didn't underestimate him why do you think they drained Porter to 144 ? Porter looked like 50 cent in that movie where 50 lost a lot of weight that made him look like he had aids

broner clearly gets outworked. period. always been his achilles, he doesnt throw enough. when he does, he lands good punches has above average handspeed and decent power. just doesnt throw enough. i dont know if he blows up too much between fights.but his conditioning doesnt allow him to be more active. maidana, ponce de leon and now porter just flat out outworked.
thats why i like mayweather. he trains like a beast. never been one to get out hustled. well except for the castillo one fight.

Broner needs to stop pretending he is Floyd and that Floyd respects him as "lil bruh..."

                  Floyd is laughing inside.
