Comments Thread For: Thurman Coping Fine With Demands of Increasing Stardom

Like most everyone who laces up gloves and learns to box, Keith Thurman dreamt of being a world champion. His accomplishments as a pro mean more people know him now, though they also mean he has more obligations.

Those obligations will only remain so long as he continues to succeed, and they may continue to grow. He was in the main event of the first “Premier Boxing Champions” card on NBC when he topped Robert Guerrero in May, and he will headline the first PBC show on ESPN against Luis Collazo on July 11.

just gives you a bit of a reference

Floyd's been carrying the crown as a top star for the last 15 years and THE top star for the last decade and, prison stint aside, hasn't gone crazy yet. Adrien Broner got a baby touch of what it'd mean to be a top star and has seemingly gone bat****.

If you're good enough to break through, the amount of attention and scrutiny that you're going to get is ridiculous

Tell that to Broner, who seems like he's crumbling under the weight.
