Comments Thread For: Tim Bradley Grabs WBO Gold, Ends Vargas' Streak

StubHub Center, Carson, California - Former two division world champion Timothy Bradley (32-1-1, 12KOs) won a twelve round unanimous decision over previously undefeated Jessie Vargas (26-1, 9KOs) to win the interim-WBO welterweight title. The scores were 116-112, 117-111 and 115-112.

The early rounds were close. Bradley was taking the fight to Vargas and loading up real big on his punches. He was catching Vargas with some very telling punches when they got up close.

Vargas was throwing a decent jab with not much coming along with that jab. Bradley was outworking Vargas in spot after spot, pushing the tempo and throwing a lot of shots.

I think it was a honest mistake with the ref. but whoa anything can happen in boxing.

Part Russell bails Timbo out again. First with Provodnikov, now in this fight. Still don't think Vargas had enough time to get it done. Still, this kind of stuff has to stop. Bradley kicked his ass regardless.

Vargas' team should thank ref. He'll get a pointless rematch and undeserved payday outta the deal.

Fight should be ruled a no contest

7 seconds against a stunned opponent is a eternity in boxing

vargas wasn't gonna KO tim in those last 10 seconds, but still, kinda alarming to be hurt like that by someone like vargas, i mean, 9 fucking KOs
