well Ward has been saying he'd fight Froch since the Bute fight but with all the home advantages. Now Froch isnt even in the state of mind for a fight, he'd take it for the money but heck, I'd watch it over Ward v random bum number 8.

... Just when did Ward take any risks at all? He didn't want Bute, back in 2012. he didn't want Stevenson at 168, back in 2013 (I guess).

... At 168, Ward will face a similar opponents' reluctance to fight him as GGG faces at 160, but emerging from different reasons... At 160 they are all afraid that they are to be KOd by GGG... At 168 they are all afraid that they are to be 'outboxed' by Ward -- because Ward isn't actually 'dispatching' people, he only does enough in order to win all the fights instead...

Smith is a decent guy and an honest pro. I believe him.

Smith had a legitimate shot at beating the overrated Andre Ward on Sat, but having received such poor treatment over in America, he suffered water retention and failed to make weight.

The blame for this is NOT Smith's.

100% of the blame should be directed at Roc Nation for their atrocious treatment of a man who is about to go into battle.

I hope moving forward they learn a lesson from this. Personally speaking Roc Nation (and almost all other US promoters) should look at Matchroom, the British promotional outfit, who make it a priority to ensure BOTH fighters are looked after.

Now, because of ill treatment, Paul Smith is on the end of a terrible decision and a loss is marked on his record.

I will tell you this right now, soberly and without ANY doubt....had Paul Smith been treated with respect then he would have beaten the Rusty Ward on Sat. Ward's team clearly knew it, Roc Nation CERTAINLY knew it and ensured every possible thing was done 'outside of the ring' to jeopardise his chances.

Yup he was there for the payday. This is what team Ward wanted. Evidently some fans wanted it too. I watched the first 2 rounds then switched to Ndam vs Lemiux.
