One fight at MW, doesn't make him a MW. He did fight Strum @ 160but had a CW of 157 for Hopkins. Here's why:

Felix Sturm almost pushed plans by the promoter Bob Arum over the edge by taking it to De La Hoya before De La Hoya was given a debatable but unanimous 12-round decision.

De La Hoya looked so vulnerable against the light-hitting Sturm, the World Boxing Organization champion from Germany, that no one could blame him for changing his mind about a possible $30 million payday for fear of what the real 160-pound champion, Hopkins, could do to him.

I'm well aware of the history but you said none of them had fought at 160 before.

Come on, we know why the rehydration clause stipulation is being put out there. Because Golovkin isn't a past prime fighter like Oscar or Cotto.

We know why the catchweight was made for Canelo too.

I don't particularly expect or care if Floyd fights GGG or not but the excuses are not there. Floyd has fought at the 154 limit and if a fighter can make it, then why shouldn't he fight them?

Hope the fight happens, you never know. Its a bit unusual for the Mayweather's and Floyd to drop hints like this of a possibility of a fight like this happening. Usually are way more dismissive.

Ya'll complaining about Floyd having to fight moving up to a division six pounds heavier than the highest he's fought, while bashing another dude for not going up 8 pounds and fighting Ward. None of those guys were fighting @ 160 before fighting Floyd. Oscar was 155 when he fought B-Hop for the MW title.

This isn't about whether Golovkin goes to 154 or not. He has already stated several times that he will do it to fight Mayweather.

This is about Floyd Sr asking for a rehydration clause after the weigh-in. Did they ask for one against Oscar, Cotto or Canelo at 154?

yeah but as soon as you mention Ward a GGG supporter will mention business and discredit Ward's drawing power but then say he should move up and fight Krusher....then give you 100 bs reasons why GGG should not move up to fight Ward then another 50 bs reasons as to why Floyd should leave his comfort zone and throw GGG a bone

Whats with all the whining about this? Floyd is a smaller guy and is a welterweight. Why would he move up to 160 thats ridiculous, the only way this fight happens is at 154 if GGG doesnt like that he can fight someone else
