Last month, Olympic gold medal winner James DeGale (21-1, 14KOs) achieved his dream of capturing a world title when he fought his way to a twelve round unanimous decision win over Andre Dirrell to secure the vacant IBF super middleweight crown.

After the match, DeGale discussed some potential options for the future - which is when he ripped WBC champion Badou Jack (19-1-1, 12KOs), who a few weeks earlier had captured his title with a victory over Andre's brother, Anthony Dirrell. Jack is now set to make a mandatory defense against the only man who scored a victory over DeGale, his domestic rival George Groves.

It'll be interesting to see where Groves is at. Before Froch II i would have backed Groves all day long here. I still back him to win but he could look horrible and i wouldn't be at all surprised.

Yeah mate, he looked pretty horrible against Rebrasse and Douglin. As you said, i see it as a more competitive fight than i originally did.
He will definetly have to step it up a gear against Jack..get fighting more like his old self.

You are 100% right.

Groves has looked awful recently and I worry that he peaked with the Froch fights.

On his best night Groves can beat Badou Jack, but I think Degale would have the better of Groves at the moment.

It will be interesting to see how these two perform over the next 12 months.

Lol Jack's not even that good, he had a good performance vs Direll and that was a huge upset so credit to him but Groves will beat him. Degale will batter him even worse.
