Comments Thread For: Callum Smith Confident He'd Beat Groves, Wants DeGale

Callum Smith says he would bet George Groves if the pair met for a World title – but insists his sole focus is on putting on a career-best display against Christopher Rebrasse when they meet for the vacant WBC Silver World Super Middleweight title at the Echo Arena in Liverpool on Friday June 26, live on Sky Sports.

Smith faces the toughest test of his promising pro career against the Frenchman, who travelled to the UK in September to face Groves to defend his European belt with the same Silver title on the line, and gave the Londoner a tough examination at Wembley Arena in his first fight since being KO’d be Carl Froch in the stadium next door.

Would he heck, just because Groves lost to arguably the #1 guy at SMW even though he was winning on the scorecard twice everyone thinks they can beat him. Groves is being really underrated.

Somehow I don't think Callum Smith coming out and saying he will lose to Groves because Groves is underrated would do much for his career.

I believe Smith would have a great shot at beating Groves by the way. He's a proper talent... it may be too soon though.

He should fight Andre Ward after his brother loses to him.

A good payday and a readymade slogan for the fight "Revenge of the Brother".

I am sure Ward will be up for it and consider it tune up number 2.

Why can't we just have Smith/Fielding to see who's #1 Scally?!!

Come on that's not what I inferred at all, I don't expect him to not believe that he can win however actually winning is a different matter. He's a great talent but I do feel it will be too soon, Groves isn't particularly old though and should get better unless he's already peaked.
