Comments Thread For: David Price: I'm Ready For Joshua, But Must Be 50-50

2008 Olympic bronze medal winner David Price (19-2, 16KOs) has a tough fight ahead with Erkan Teper (14-0, 9KOs) for the vacant EBU heavyweight title on July 17th in Germany, but he has no issue with facing rising star Anthony Joshua (13-0, 13KOs), who won Olympic gold in 2012, sooner than later.

Joshua demolished Kevin Johnson two weeks ago in two rounds. Johnson had never been stopped in any of his previous fights, which included decision losses to Dereck Chisora, Tyson Fury and Vitali Klitschko.

Meh. Joshua is definitely the A-side there. Don't think it's 50-50

I see it as a fifty fifty due to the experience of Price, and inexperience of Jodhua the power is about the same, we don't know if Joshua can take moderate power like Price could not, we know they both have power and both are a bit stiff, if not both as green as each other. I mean is Price any more experienced than Joshua, the guy has been fighting against guys at a lower level than Joshua has amd been covering as many rounds in those fights too. He had the one fight versus Zavorotnyi where he went 10, great. Johnson is a level anove guys like Pala and and Zavorotnyi. Looking at it subjectively Johnson is very comparable to Thompson and look how Joshua dealt with that guy, I'm in no doubts whatsoever Joshua would destroy Tompson.

Joshua most certainly is the draw, Price has literally been forgot about due to fighting scrubs on Sauerland undercards, that is the state of his career. It's really a huge question mark over will he get past Teper, which I actually favour Teper personally, I wouldn't be surprised to see Price pass on that fight.

I see teper as top 50 he's no more than a brian vera type of opponent. He barely beat duhaupas who realy is dire. Plus his gut is catching up with solis, see his latest fights he's pilling on the pounds.

60-40 to Joshua i'd say minimum... Whether Price likes it or not Joshua is the name.

I actually think this is more of a way of Price steering well clear of that fight, why fight someone who obviously has a lot of power.

Yes Joshua is the draw, or A-Side in this matchup. It's getting to the point where people in the UK might pay to see Joshua fight a boxingscene.com poster, and Price is off in nowheresville somewhere. I thought Price had retired until recently..

I like Price, but he gets demolished by Joshua.

If Price wins the European title against Teper, it's only fair he receives at least 50%.
