  • Comments Thread For: Team Gradovich File Protest Over Selby Title Loss

Former champion Evgeny Gradovich (19-1-1) is looking for an immediate rematch with Lee Selby (21-1, 8KOs).

The boxers met on May 30th in Selby's backyard at the O2 Arena in London. The fight was stopped in the eight round, due to a cut suffered by Gradovich, and sent to the scorecards. Selby won an eight round technical decision with scores of 80-72, 79-73 and 79-73 - and he also walked away with Gradovich's IBF featherweight championship.

In Selby's backyard? He is from Wales! A little bit of research, accuracy, and professionalism goes a long way. Poor.

Ahh yes, 'Wales' a suburb of London, Selbys backyard.

It wasn't his backyard and even though it was a bad stoppage, he was getting his ass beat.

That fight needed to be stopped. Ref did the right thing. Though I do want to see a rematch.

The last thing Gradovich should be doing is drawing more attention to a fight Selby outclassed and schooled him in, And to argue he was going to come on strong in latter rounds is laughable, He should be thanking the ref. Saved him from possibly becoming badly beat. Selby is the champ now and if they want a rematch then its time to cough up the cash not go crying o the IBF.

Gradovich was losing, but he had at least 2-3 rounds all from round 5 on I believe , Plus he's a slow starter so the tables could have turned. The stoppage was BS and just reaffirmes to International fighters fighting in the UK that unless it's a KO the deck is / will be stacked against them.

I wouldn't mind seeing Selby toy with Gradovich again. Too easy.

Gradovich always steps it up in the later rounds

Selby was outclassing Gradovich easily but...

I did think the stoppage was a touch early.

Gradovich was the Champion, and is know to be a face first fighter.

Selby was in control, but IMO Gradovich was still in the fight when it was stopped.

Take nothing away from Selby though.
