Sergio was very good until 2012. The Chavez fight proved to be very costly for the aging Martinez (injured hands and knee). After that, all was a lie. Sergio actually lost against Murray (home decision in Argentina saved the title) and then the farce against Cotto was beyond words (one last paycheck pretending to be in acceptable shape). Finally acceptance of retirement came on this year 2015. Enjoy it!

Great champ, Maravilla at his prime was a delight to watch. Good for him to retire. He returned the interest for boxing in his country. Thanks champ for those amaizing fights.

Sergio had a hell of a run. I thought he won the first fight against Pwill and he left no doubts with one of the most devastating KO's I have ever seen in the rematch. Will never forget how he put that ass whipping that Chavez Jr. deserved from his Daddy for years.
He was one of the best athletes ever in his division with his soccar backround. Too bad both of his knees were shot against Cotto, everyone knows a prime Sergio beats Cotto's ass easily.
