WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder, like his trainer, former welterweight champ Mark Breland, likes to work off his jab. 9 of his 16 landed punches per round (56%)are jabs (he averaged 31 per round- 11 more than the hvt. avg.) Wilder makes his power punches count, averaging 7 landed per round-4 fewer than the hvt.avg, but landed 53%, 11% higher than wgt. class avg. (Oppopnents: Stiverne, Gavern, Scott, Firtha).
