  • Comments Thread For: Haskins vs. Iwasa Will Be Explosive, Says Sanigar

Lee Haskins, 31-3 (13), contests the IBF interim bantamweight title against Japan’s Ryosuke Iwasa, 19-1 (12), at Whitchurch’s Action Indoor Sports Arena tomorrow night and Chris Sanigar, his cornerman, has warned viewers here in the U.K. to switch over to Channel 5 as soon as the show starts as he expects some explosive early rounds.

Haskins tops the Mick Hennessy-promoted bill. It is an all-southpaw clash and a win for the 31-year-old would cap a remarkable career turnaround since his last defeat—an eighth-round TKO to Stephane Jamoye for the EBU belt in 2012, a title he later won when stopping Omar Lamiri in eight.

predictions for this? haskins is the smaller man, he's going to have to step in with the counters, but he's good at clinching, close one imo..........haskins doesnt realy knock anyone out he go's to throw a couple of pot shots then tie you up, he's unlikely to ko this guy.

Its interesting, Ive seen the yamanaka fight, Iwasa basically got countered and outclassed.......haskins has that countering ability, I think you have to disregard that jamoye fight cause he didnt show up.

Fight was close early with iwasa hurting him early on.... But he faded down the stretch then got starched.

Yeah he looks a bit basic once you get inside the jab, he might not be able to cope especialy if he's countered hard to the head, he might fold, or just not be prepared and get out worked inside.

Yeah I'm picking Iwasa now, got 10 quid on him by decision and got the draw too. I was thinking haskins could win, but Ive changed my mind. And I like the odds on the decision as opposed to the ko cause haskins can hold etc.

I know practically nothing of Haskins - Iwasa gave Yamanaka arguably the best Bantum one of his toughest fights has improved since.

Good luck to Hakins. It's a tough one but hopefully he can grab his chance.
