Comments Thread For: Marriaga Still Plans To Fight Overweight Nicholas Walters

Miguel Marriaga (20-0, 18KOs) has no intention of withdrawing from Saturday's contest with WBA featherweight champion Nicholas ‘Axe Man’ Walters (25-0, 21KOs). They are scheduled to fight in the main event on an HBO-televised doubleheader live from Madison Square Garden Theatre in New York City.

Earlier today at the official weigh-in, Walters blew the weight-limit by coming in at 127.4-pounds. Marriaga was well within the limit at 125.2-pounds.

Is it still a title fight? Walters is one of the biggest fw i've ever seen.

If walters doesn't make weight in two hours. The title would only be up for grabs for marriaga.

Daayum! Walters must of run into a Nuts 4 Nuts street cart during his morning tour. Bad idea!

              Im disapointed in Walters.

But gotdammit, boxers need to stop killing themselves to make weight.

Keep working, keep developing your skills, keep getting better and just move up.

Perhaps training to make weight is a forgotten art.

Walters was out of the ring too long, just like Quillin.
