Comments Thread For: Lomachenko's Manager: We're Aiming For Walters Next

Vasyl Lomachenko and his manager Egis Klimas are certainly interested observers of this weekends match-up between WBA featherweight beltholder Nicholas Walters and unbeaten challenger Miguel Marriaga. A victory by the 'Axe Man' could set up a fall showdown between the two.

"That's what we're aiming for, that's what we would like to do but that depends on the Walters people," Klimas told BoxingScene.com.

Greasing the skids for this potential fight is that both are under the Top Rank promotional banner.

Great news. I wish the same was happening at Jr. Featherweight.

I feel for Rigo. Santa Cruz has run to Featherweight and Frampton has run to be under Haymon's protective cloak.

Walters already dismissed a Lomachenko matchup last year in an interview, i wouldn't be surprised if he dismisses it again, he ain't even capable of holding Lomachenko's water bottle for him....Loma decapitates and crumbles that axe if they fight

This fight would be a dream come true, that is of course Walters gets past Marriaga. I wish Lomachenko would at least fight the next ranked #1 Wbo contender like he did against Piriyapinyo and Rodriguez as a stay busy fight.

Magdaleno is not ready for Lomachenko.

It'll be a great fight. Walters may be getting Lomachenko at just the right point. 5-6 more fights as a pro and Lomachenko is going to be very hard to beat.
