Comments Thread For: Scott Quigg: I Believe 100% That I'll Beat Frampton!

Super bantamweight rivals Carl Frampton and Scott Quigg will return on July 18th - but it won't be against each other. Quigg defends his WBA 'regular' belt against former champion Kiko Martinez in Manchester, while Frampton makes his American debut against in a voluntary defense of his IBF title against Alejandro Gonzalez Jr. in El Paso, Texas.

There was some discussions in making a Frampton-Quigg showdown happen. It's one of the biggest fights to be made in the UK. Both sides lay the blame on each other for their discussions falling apart.

I really feel for Quigg - he clearly wants the Frampton fight. The like for Frampton.

It's just a shame Hearn and McGuigan are putting up roadblocks.

Hearn seems to be saying now that he's willing to give Frampton 60-40 straight up which is what it should have been from the start. And he has a better relationship with Haymon than he does with McGuigan so it could be next.

McGuigan is still Carl's manager though, right?

Think so. But McGuigan said he'd accept a 60-40 split in Frampton's favour. Hearn was offering "60-40 to the winner" which was a joke. But now Hearn seems to have come down off his high horse.

60-40 to Frampton and it'll get done. Frampton doesn't need Scott Quigg at this point.

quiggs gravy train coming to an end , kiko has his number, he can only bully real small guys at short notice, he's going to be ill equiped and under pressure , then he gets ko'd in the 8th. And I'll have a little chuckle just like when etches got exposed.
