Comments Thread For: Sulaiman: Canelo-Cotto Biggest Since Chavez-Camacho

The President of the World Boxing Council, Mauricio Sulaiman, believes the upcoming fight between Miguel Angel Cotto and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez is biggest fight in the history of the Puerto Rico vs. Mexico rivalry since Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. fought Hector Camacho, which took place in 1992.

Cotto retained his WBC middleweight title on Saturday at Barclays Center in Brooklyn with a fourth round knockout of Daniel Geale. He is now expected to face Canelo sometime in the fall - once a step-aside deal is reached between Cotto and WBC mandatory challenger Gennady Golovkin.

There should be a moratorium on Cotto - Canelo articles until the step aside agreement with Golovkin is resolved. There is no point in any further discussion until then.

they are talking about the fight, not the title, this fight is bigger than any title, a title wont stop the fight from happening...
