Sweet hitting thrice world champion Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez (43-0, 37KOs) from Nicaragua, plans to stay in the thick of the mix by fighting in September.

After World Boxing Council flyweight champion Gonzalez defeated Mexican veteran Edgar Sosa by TKO in two rounds last May 16th on a card starring Gennady Golovkin and broadcasted by HBO, it has been mooted that in September he could be defending his crown facing another former Mexican world Champion, Giovani Segura (32-4-1, 28KOs).

        Smh,

        I have a feeling Gonzalez/Estrada 2 isn't going to happen until 2016.

The best part is the rumor is it'll be a double header with Roman/Seguara and Gonzalez/Marquez as a double header... bad

Not really looking forward to Gonzalez vs no defense Segura.

It appears that Gonzalez is gradually cleaning out the flyweights ; # 13 Rocky Fuentes , # 10 Edgar Sosa , and Segura is @ # 6 - this would make his third title defense in less than a year and yet people are complaining?

Are you aware that two of those names were/ are coming off of losses and Sosa hadn't had a significant win in years... Fuentes is a gatekeeper, Sosa had no business facing Roman at this stage in his career and Segura hasn't fought since losing to Estrada in September of last year... Yeah, really cleaning out the division eh?

And who at Flyweight in the top 10 should he have fought instead? Estrada........oh wait ; yeah lets not go there AGAIN.Fact is that when you examine the Flyweight division you can only find one 'worthy' opponent - a man who Chocolatito already defeated.
