  • Comments Thread For: Geale: Golovkin vs. Cotto Would Be a Great Fight

Barclays Center, Brooklyn, New York - Daniel Geale has come to New York twice and suffered defeat in a similar manner on both occasions, in which he told the referee he had nothing left and didn’t want to continue. He packed things up in the third round last year against Gennady Golovkin and did so the fourth round on Saturday night against Miguel Cotto.

Geale looked drained at the weigh-in as he made the 157-pound catch weight for the fight but made no excuses as he said Miguel Cotto was just the better man.

I told everyone who would listen that Geale was a tomato , and now that Cotto KOed his azz , he's now considered a formittable opponent for GGG . What a joke , it wouldn't last 6 rounds !

Why wouldnt it last 6 rounds just because you say so. Who had golovkin fought.. exactly a bunch of bums his resume does not have one great fighter they all have been journey men or nobodies.

cotto speed will bother him and so will cotto movement but the only way cotto can win this fight is if he clinches when ggg gets close to him. ggg is very good at cutting off the ring so he will catch up to him.

        ggg by ko within 8

It would be fantastic watching Golovkin bash Cotto's brains in.

Well, the fight that got all of cottos fans d*cks hard, was against one of those "journey men or nobodies" that GGG has fought. Fresh of a 3 round KO by GGG,and at at a catchwieght that made his look like a raisin, and suddenly cotto can beat GGG? If only cotto was as brave as his fans.

I have never wished injury on a boxer but after what Cotto and Roach did to Geale, I hope Golovkin beats Cotto so bad that his face makes Rosado's look undamaged. I want to see Cotto convulsing on the mat after GGG delivers the hardest punch he has ever thrown with the ref not even bothering to count, just instantly waving the fight off when Cotto hits the ground.

cotto needs to fight alvared and mayweather then retire. screw this GGG crap. golovkin struggles to make 160. and even though the big mouth alvared will never get in the ring with GGG. i don't like that fight neither. golovkin needs to take his ass up to 168 where he belongs.

Here is how it all went down with Cotto. He is not being honorable. Back in October GGG made the fight with Rubio to be the mandatory for the opportunity that Cotto got from the WBC to fight Martinez. When Cotto made that deal with the WBC he understood that after one optional fight, he then had to fight the winner of Rubio/Golovkin sometime this year. Cotto made that deal with the WBC in order to get the opportunity against Martinez. Or else Martinez would have probably fought somebody else or fought Golovkin. Now that Cotto has to live up to that arrangement he is not being honorable. He is backing out because he is being a diva. He fights Geale and doesn’t fight the winner of Golovkin/Rubio. So what does that say about Cotto’s word.
