Comments Thread For: Terry Flanagan Eyes Anthony Crolla Fight if Both Win

Manchester’s Terry Flanagan fights California-based Jose Zepeda for the vacant WBO lightweight title on July 11th and he believes that a win for him and Anthony Crolla, who fights Darleys Perez for the WBA World belt the following week, could set up an all-Manchester unification showdown.

Flanagan, 27-0 (10), has told the Manchester Evening News that friendship would be put to one side should both men net world titles. “I've obviously got to concentrate on July 11 first but if I win and then Crolla can win a week later then that gives the possibility of a unification fight,” he said during a conversation with Sheldan Keay.

Seeing as the WBA strap isn't an 'official' world title (just 'regular'), the WBO will not allow for there belt to be part of a 'unification'. That aside, there are also promotional differences. Is a shame.

just having a look at this flannigan guy, he looks like the sort of guy who stinks the joint out with his pitty pat and clinching, he looks like he needs to go back to the amateurs, cant stand these guys who get away with clinching constantly. Please ref make them fight.

this guys looking a bit like the next frankie gavin, pitty pat, cure for insomnia. Nice one frank warren good luck marketing that guy. I could devise a gameplan to beat this guy it would involve geting into hooking range and not even jabing with him but ducking down and hooking blind, to get the punches in quick, ormond takes too long to throw them.
