Comments Thread For: Mohammedi Hopes To Give Kovalev 'GGG' Flashbacks

Nadjib "Irondjib" Mohammedi (37-3, 23 KOs) is hoping to give IBF/WBO/WBA light heavyweight champion Sergey "Krusher" Kovalev (27-0-1, 24 KOs) some flashbacks of his past sparring sessions with current middleweight destroyer Gennady "GGG" Golovkin.

Mohammedi will challenge Kovalev for the three belts on Saturday, July 25 at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada and the fifth will be televised live on HBO World Championship Boxing.

I doubt anyone has an easy time sparring with Golovkin. He's a very intense guy and sparring with him is probably not very enjoyable on the other end. That still doesn't mean he would have more than a prayer in a professional bout against Kovalev.

This actually makes sense. Walking on to GGG punches would be bad for anyone.

It's interesting that Mohammedi's manager was saying Nadjib hasn't sparred at all with Golovkin. Think they were protecting Mohammedi's psyche.

He was on an edition of the Ruckus podcast. They also talked about how Abel Sanchez basically told Kovalev to leave his gym due to a poor attitude.

Very unprofessional to be talking about what happened in sparring.
