Comments Thread For: Geale Sees Advantages To Gain Edge Over Cotto

Daniel Geale is ready for his WBC middleweight world-title fight in New York, dealing an early blow to champion Miguel Cotto. Cotto's camp demanded the much taller Geale come in at the catch weight of 154-pounds for Saturday's big money bout at Brooklyn's Barclays Center.

At Friday's weigh-in Geale stripped down to his Aboriginal print underpants, stepped on the scales and when it was announced he had come right on the mark he clenched his right fist victoriously.

His promoter Gary Shaw smiled and light-heartedly taunted members of the press who predicted Geale wouldn't make the weight.

Geale, if there aren't any, come up with advantages. Load your gloves, shoot steroids... bro, we don't give a **** for real. Do what you have to. Kneeguel deserves no pity. He cheated and abused you with the weight, get even tomorrow night. We are behind you bro.

Geale just doesn't seem mentally there to me. He's going to eat some hard shots that i don't think he's truly prepared for. Much in the same way Sergio wasn't prepared last June against Cotto. I am hoping for a competitive fight though.

The catch weight was 157 lbs not 154. Geale should be considerably heavier than Cotto by fight time. I hope he smashes him.

Early weigh in, late fight start. Geale will be 172-3 come fight time, fully hydrated, fully rested up and ready to box at a high intensity for 12 rounds. He has been in for 12 rounds with heavier punchers than Cotto before, and won comfortably. He knows how to move, smother and most importantly when to trade always outlanding his opponent.

Would you believe that if Geale was 160 on the scales yesterday ?
