Comments Thread For: Nonito Donaire Taking No Chances, Training Very Hard

Five division world champion Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire is taking no chances in preparation for his ten round non-title fight against European champion Anthony Settoul of France on July 18 in Macau.

Donaire, who is training under the watchful eyes of his father/trainer Nonito “Dodong” Donaire Sr in Las Vegas, told the New Standard/BoxingScene.com that he is “training very hard and really well” and plans to return to Cebu sometime next week “to get some sparring there” where several talented fighters from the famed ALA Gym would be available.

once this guy got successful he kicked his dad in the azz, kicked out of his career the man that sacrificed so much so Nonito could be where he's at, as soon as his b!tch accused his father of stealing his money he believed her and got rid of his dad, his dad suffered and never held ill feeling towards his son throughout the whole thing, now that Nonito has got his azz whooped a few times and looks like crap nobody cares about him except for one person, his father, the same guy he turned his back on and didn't even talk to for years....Nonito you're a damn traitor, ungrateful piece of crap

i would hope he dont take chances after being exposed by rigo and walter. were talking about a guy who was gigantic compared to the guys he was fighting and he still relied on his hook. obviously it was a great hook but he fell so in love with it that it started affecting the rest of his game. I do hope he gets back on track tho cause there are some good fights that could be made with donaire

They couldn't find anyone better? Nonito shouldn't be wasting too much of his time with tune-ups. I wouldn't mind if he fought Agbeko, who at least has a name.
