The problem is catch weights between two fighters from difference classes in a big money fight are one thing. However once a fighter wins a belt, specifically the lineal belt, and continue to ask for CWs, it makes them look like a b!tch.

For example while I wasn't a fan of Mayweather fighting Canelo at a CW, that fight wasn't really about belts. Also Mayweather didn't fight K9 at 152 in his next fight.

Or when the great sugar ray leonard drained the **** out of lalonde to a 167 pound catchweight for Lalondes belt at 175. I dont remember anybody bringing that **** up when it comes to those greats. Most of you newbys dont remember Sugar Ray draining the **** out of lalonde.

You need to get your facts straight. The weight Hopkins had to make was 158 not 156. People didn't complain because they didn't know about it as it was kept quite. Those that knew about it like myself did complain. Holpkins was the champ so he could have remained champion if he refused the catchweight. He agreed to the terms because it would be the biggest payday of his career. Cotto is the champ so Geale must agree to Cotto's illegal terms to get a title shot. No middleweight champion in history before Cotto ever made a challenger make a weight lower than the traditional 160 pounds. You are trying very hard to show that Cotto is doing nothing wrong with demanding Geale weighs in no heavier than 157 and making yourself look foolish. You know damn well it's wrong. Any other world title fight fought at a weight limit below the standard weight limit for that weight class is wrong. Two wrongs don't make it right.
