  • Comments Thread For: Demetrius Andrade Return Tentative For August 15

It's been awhile since we've seen Demetrius Andrade in the ring. According to his promoter, his return could come on in the late summer.

"Right now, we're tentatively scheduling Demetrius to fight on August the 15th at the Foxwoods Casino," said Artie Pelullo, who's company Banner Promotions co-promotes him alongside Star Boxing. The veteran promoters said that the opponent and television outlet have yet to be worked out.

Wtf man, so the next time he fights, he will have been out of the ring for over a year, these are his peak years, he needs to stop acting so prestige and stay active if he can't get the fights he wants. This guy is a serious talent, definitely top 3 at 154, he's wasting his best years

Agreed. He is very talented and needs some stay busy fights. Right now Andrade has to accept the fact he is high risk and low reward. None of the top guys want to give him a chance so he will have to keep winning until he becomes someone's mandatory.

Andrade is just biding his time until he can sign with Haymon.

Wow, out over a year because of self-delusion and greed. He might as well have stayed training alongside Ward.

This dude needs to take a page from GGGs book. Stay active and make the public push the big names to fight you. This dude is way to talented to remain in the shelves for so long

Keep winning until he becomes someones mandatory? That makes no sense. He has the Wbo belt at 154, he can't become someones mandatory. The Wbo is a joke of a organization for allowing Andrade to sit and hold the belt for a full year without defending it. This man acts like he deserves a big fight, but hasn't done s**t to deserve it.

                  FINALLY!

All he can do is stay active to be honest. If he is not leaving his Promotion he might as well fight on. Just take your mandatory's, it won't be a big name until one of the big names go a pair and fight him.

So his next fight will likely be a international guy like Liam Smith or Oleksandr Spyrko guys who are rated high in his division by the WBO

His Promoter got greedy and ruined their relationship with HBO and Bob Arum because they assumed that the Quillin Bid was open for anybody to accept and thought they would get the same amount from Roc Nation that Quillin was offered
