Comments Thread For: Cotto-Geale: WBC Chimes in on Catchweight Rumble

As if the prospect of a catchweight couldn’t be disliked any more by fans, the circumstances surrounding this weekend’s middleweight title fight is making everyone dizzy and angry.

Daniel Geale set off alarms during a mandatory 7-day pre-fight weight check, tipping the scales at 167½ lbs. for his upcoming showdown with Miguel Cotto. The two are set to collide this weekend at Barclays Center in Brooklyn (Saturday, HBO, 10:30 p.m. ET).

Geale should just come in at 160 and let Cotto ***** about it.

Geale needs to swing his d*ck and come in at 160. If cotto doesn't like it,he can suck it,since he needs the fight way more than geale does. He's been out of the ring for almost a year, and rock nation spent a fortune on him,so they're going to make him fight one way or another, and at this point jayz might be thinking of throwing cotto to the wolves (canelo and GGG).

Once you agree to the catchweight that's on you. If Geale didn't want to he could of said no. Same thing goes to Porter against Broner. No one is forcing these guys to accept a catchweight. I just want to this fight to be over so we can get Cotto-Canelo next.

I hope Geale comes 8n at 160 and Cottoo cancels the fight, imagine how that will make him look. Just realism the title and go back down to junior middleweight if your going to make every fighter fight at 157. It's the middleweight divisor for the title. Cotto is not a natural 160. He just went there to beat Martinez. So now go back down

Cotto would definitely want to back out the fight if Geale comes in at full 160 problem is I wonder if Roc Nation would let him. They invested a lot of money in Cotto. My guess is they force him to fight.

Cotto behaves woefuly. If you have a belt and you're a world champion don't bitching about you catchweights.

Geale should just come in at 160, the WBC would side with him. The WBC sees that Cotto is acting like a complete b*tch.
