Comments Thread For: Amir Khan-Chris Algieri: Post-Fight Report Card

Much gnashing of teeth about a bad style match preceded Amir Khan-Chris Algieri. There was none of that by the end. It wasn’t a classic or anything, but it was a good fight and an excellent main event for a Friday night show.

Was it too good a fight for Khan to get what he’s really after?

The 2004 Silver Medalist has made no bones about what he wants. Like everyone within spitting distance of Welterweight, give or take a class or two, he wants Floyd Mayweather. Khan has appeared to delay his career at points thinking the fight was at hand.

Why Algieri's power got downgraded? He rocked Khan a few times.
And why Khan's power got upgraded? Is this some kind of a joke? He couldn't hurt Algieri throughout the fight he was walked down.

He's known not to have punching power but was able to rock Khan a few times. So it beats the h3ll out of me.

Surely Khans defence AND power should be downgraded. Algieri really wen up in my book last night. Khan's stock fell and I scored it very close. Surely nobody still wants to see Floyd face Khan?!

Julio Diaz, Michael Gomez, Peterson, Maidana, Garcia, Prescott.. Khan cannot handle pressure. People honestly want Floyd to fight him?? Rather see Floyd go for Cotto @160 or dare to step in with Golovkin. Khan still can't fight on the inside and gets away with holding time after time.

Agree with all of the above, including the part about no one wants to see Khan fight Floyd. Don't know what this writer is on about.

It seems like certain fighters are favored for whatever reason. Harold letterman did an interview after the khan fight and was asked does Chris algieri deserve a rematch with pacquiao after this and he said yes but he shouldn't fight provodnikov again because hes too dangerous and Provo beat him. What kind of sense does that make considering pacquiao did 10x better than Provo while algieri used the same style for both fights. These so called experts are worthless sometimes

Floyd please do not fight Khan, based on last night's fight he does not deserve the fight and he does not stand a chance. Only 2 fighters to fight: Miguel Cotto or GGG for the middleweight title. Obvious choice is the linear Champion Cotto. GGG is the biggest risk.
