Comments Thread For: Julio Cesar Chavez Jr-Marcos Reyes on July 18th

According to Promociones del Pueblo, former middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (48-2-1, 32KOs) will make his return on July 18th against Marcos Reyes (33-2, 24KOs). The fight will be televised by Televisa in Mexico. The TV outlet in the United States is unknown.

After more than a year off, Chavez Jr. returned to the ring last month and was stopped by top light heavyweight contender Andrzej Fonfara in nine rounds. The fight with Reyes is going to take place at super middleweight. Chavez admitted after his last fight that a move to 175-pounds, after being a middleweight for most of his career, was a big mistake.

There is a Showtime card on July 17. Does Kovalev fight 18 or 25 for HBO?

Two questions: What weight will the fight take place at? And if Jr. will pull a JaMarcus Gomez?

Spent most of his career in Mexico.

Did fight in the at Stubhub last year on the Golovkin-Rubio card against Abie Han, and lost a MD.
