Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum would love to make a fight between Lucas Matthysse (37-3, 34KOs) and Brandon Rios (33-2-1, 24KOs).

Matthysse came back a few weeks ago in Verona to to win one hell of a fight with equally dangerous Ruslan Provodnikov over twelve rounds. Rios was in action back in January, when he demolished Mike Alvarado in three one-sided rounds.

Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya is interested in Rios-Matthysse, and Arum likes the fight as well.

If I'm rios, I'm not wanting a lucas fight right now, I would be looking to go to the UK amd fight Brook... Rios-brook would be a big fight, especially in UK as rios would be the biggest star to come to the UK since jeff lacy or tszyu.. Rios should go for the title, and even if he loses he can still regroup and fight lucas.. But if he fights lucas now, he may lose and won't get a Brook fight..

I just dont think he really wants to break bread with Oscar. Rios-Matthysse is a very good match and I got Brandon Rios in that one.
