Comments Thread For: Roman Gonzalez Eyes Inoue, But Not in Near Future

WBC flyweight world champion Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez (43-0, 37KOs) is not yet ready to face Japanese superstar Naoya "Monster" Inoue (8-0, 7KOs), who fights one division north and holds the WBO title in that weight class.

Inoue is making tremendous waves in the lower weights. After only turning pro in 2012, he's already a two-division world champion after destroying Adrian Hernandez for the WBC junior flyweight title in early 2014 and then moving up by two weight divisions later that year to wipeout 115-pound kingpin Omar Narvaez for the WBO super flyweight title.

Is it just me, or did it seem weird that Max Kellerman didn't ask Gonzalez about Estrada last night? It has to be one of the top five most wanted fights in boxing right now.

I think it just show how big networks neglect lower weight divisions. Gonzalez vs Estrada is THE FIGHT.

Id love to see it again but I dont think it will be a different outcome. It was exciting but I take Roman wider this time around.

that's fine. no point in moving up without first settling business at flyweight. estrada, ruenroeng, ioka and viloria are all good opponents

Vitoria and Ioka would succumb to Gonzalez, Amnat gives him a tough night out and I'm rooting for Estrada to beat him this time around. I just hope Roman stops fighting sub par opposition and continues to shed light to the best weight class in boxing.

I think this is fair. Gonzales vs. Inuoe is a great fight one day, but there is still plenty left to settle at flyweight.
