  • Comments Thread For: Manny Pacquiao Urged To Retire By Philippines President

Eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao has been urged to retire by Philippines President Aquino. He wants Pacquiao to spend his time with his family and focus on his political career as a Sarangani congressman

Pacquiao returned earlier this month in the most financially successful fight in boxing history where he lost a twelve round decision to Floyd Mayweather Jr. He aggravated a pre-existing shoulder injury during the fight and had surgery last Wednesday.

The President is worried that if Pacquiao, now 36-years-old, continues forward with tough fights then he will risk the possibility of ending up like heavyweight legend Muhammad Ali.

The President knows Pacquiao lost and fears a rematch will get him knocked out or embarrassed further. Still you won't find lack of fools thinking Pacquiao won and wanting a rematch. Pacquiao obviously wants the money and he can always create another excuse when he loses again then retire even richer than he is now. Deep down I don't think Mayweather and Pacquiao hate each other after the first first fight, they are laughing and counting the money, only the fans think otherwise.

I Hate when another man tells another man what he should do lol, its like counting another mans money.

PAcquaio do what he wants. wants to retire tomorrow cool, if not cool. End up ******ed he made his chases, get the rematch and wins good for him.

but either way you chop it , its his choice.

The President advised him to retire in late April before the fight, nothing to do with the official result.

manny can still beat any welterweight not named mayweather if he decides to keep fighting, imo. pac, despite his delusional comments after the loss, is not on erik morales' level of shot/damaged goods yet. and a rematch with may is perfectly safe since floyd does not have knockout or damaging power at 147.
