Comments Thread For: Mayweather Sr: Floyd Probably Beats Gennady Golovkin

WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin is willing to come down to 154-pounds for a "dream fight" with WBC/WBA/WBO welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. - who also holds the WBA/WBC world titles at the junior middleweight limit.

Golovkin is back in action on Saturday night, facing Willie Monroe Jr. in Los Angeles. Mayweather, who beat Manny Pacquiao by decision last Saturday night in Las Vegas, wants to return to the ring in September.

Floyd Sr., father and trainer, does not like the size difference between his son and Golovkin. Mayweather walks around at 150-152-pounds when he's not training. Floyd Sr. believes Golovkin would squeeze down to 154-pounds and then rehydrate on the night of the fight to 180-pounds.

Floy Sr. was making my day until I realized he hesitated a little bit. He's not sure, he didn't say something like "Floyd whoops him". Aight, I respect this kind of statement coming from him for the first time.

Doesn't GGG rehydrate to like 170 as it is? No way he'd be able to be 180 in the ring and 154 on the scales. But man I'm so hype that Floyd Sr even acknowledged that this fight has come up. What a match up that'd be...

How much your son will earn fighting Golovkin?

Come on, see first how much your son eaning in his fight against Pacman. was the amount set a world record?

Money talks as they say, just maybe, if you want to earn more hundreds of millions of dollars then think about the rematch, afterall your monicker sa "moneyman" is on the line!

take a nice relaxing vacation for 6 months, train for 3 months, and then fight again! with Pacman!

He probably does. GGG is too heavyfooted. Floyd pot shots GGG to an easy decision win.

GGG beats everyone but Ward and Mayweather.

              I agree with Snr.

              At 154, Mayweather beats GGG.

If GGG could make 154 and be healthy, he would be fighting there.

              He clearly cant.

GGG would not be a beast at 154, he just wouldnt.

Mayweather beats GGG at 154, and due to styles, he beats him even easier than most would expect.

? Floyd is a 154 belt holder, GGG is willing to go down to 154. Some people like Robert Garcia have expressed desire to see this match up... Why not talk about this?

Floyd might actually be able to win, he has a big speed advantage... Floyd should fight Lara, only guy with reach and speed to give him trouble, and he's a natural 154lber too...

After Floyd nullifies GGG's offense and wins a decision it'll be:

"GGG was drained. Floyd cherry picked again."

Nope. I'll pass. Floyd should fight Brandon Rios for #49 and Mike Alvarado for #50.

Stick it to the haters with no Vaseline.
