Comments Thread For: Omar Figueroa Praises Judges, Says Hands Were Sore

HIDALGO, TEXAS - Omar "Panterita" Figueroa (25-0-1, 18 KOs) remained undefeated as he put on an exciting show in front of a raucous hometown crowd and earned a unanimous decision over Ricky Burns (37-5-1, 11 KOs) on Premier Boxing Champions on CBS live from State Farm Arena in Hidalgo, Texas.

Figueroa was the sharper fighter who landed harder punches and was able to dictate the pace of the fight. Burns was deducted a point in both the eighth and 11th rounds by the referee for excessive holding. "Panterita" won by scores of 116-110 twice and 117-109.

A pressure fighter with brittle hands, he won't last long fighting the way he does.

I think Broner would beat up Figueroa.

            He's Juan Diaz 2.0 maybe.

He'll get a ton of good poon, pay for his school and end up owning a Ford dealership and sitting on the City council.

In the meantime, he'll be fun to watch.

            WAR FIGUEROA!!!

He's has serious hands problems for years. I remember several occasions where he had to postpone fights and he was also out for a while if memory serves right.

Definitely not another Hopkins we're looking at.

he still hasn't beaten a top 10 fighter in his career and he should have lost this one. he's in the broner protection program.

His come-forward style, defensive lapses, brittle hands and weight-missing ways make that abundantly clear. He genuinely reminded me of Chavez Jr, not a good look at all.

If he wants to get an education, better do it before your brain gets turned into mashed potatoes. I wonder how long he'll be kept away from relevant opposition. There are several fighters that would give him a boxing lesson or a beatdown.
