Comments Thread For: Lauren-Gabriel in WBC/WBO Unification on June 6

WBC female superwelter champ Mikaela Lauren (24-3-1) take on WBO counterpart Hanna Gabriel (14-1-1) June 6 at Eriksdalshallen in Stockholm (Sweden) in a title unification. Lauren still also cling on to a number of minor titles.

The show is promoted by Lauren and Mikaela is probably the hardest working woman in the boxing business. Outside of training and promoting she´s also a coach and personal trainer, makes personal appearances and is featured in a ten episode documentary that currently airs on Swedish TV.

    Great fight!!

I've noticed the dominance of Braekhus at welterweight has made the super welterweight divisions a lot more competitive because a lot of those in position to conquer belts have already lost to Baekhus.

      Gabriel By KO

Hanna has a great chance to win this fight by KO which should help set up the Mega Fight with Cecilia Braekhus.

I agree with you Night Ranger. If Hanna wins against Lauren, and I believe she will, she is worthy to face Braekhus.

But right now Braekhus has a load of possible opponents.
Erica Farias who recently defeated Klara Svensson has proven herself as the number 1 at super lightweight and both girls are very keen on facing each other.

And Layla McCarters manager Luis Tapia has given an interview to Norwegian press about negotiations with his old friend Tom Loeffler. They have the connections to make the fight. And to be honest that fight is well overdue and needs to be made just to get it out the way.

Fernanda Alegre, also from Argentine, is considered the second best at super lightweight. And has been successful several years at that weight and has easily the size to move up to welter.

Noni Tenge has been interim WBA champion at welter since June 2014 after beating Oxandia Castillo.

And rumors about a fight between the two top American welterweight girls Tori Nelson and Chevelle Hallback could, if one has a decisive win, be a worthy eliminator to face Braekhus.
