Comments Thread For: Anthony Joshua Loves Idea of Tyson Fury Clash For Title

Olympic champion Anthony Joshua is happy to delay an inevitable blockbuster against Tyson Fury until his heavyweight rival has a world title belt around his waist.

A fight between the likeable 2012 gold medallist and the more experienced Fury would be a huge occasion in Britain and a challenge which Joshua relishes.

Fury currently holds the British belt, which Joshua is in contention for, but the outspoken traveller is set for a world title shot against reigning WBA, IBF and WBO champion Wladimir Klitschko in the near future.

Hearn isn't going to let his cash cow get exposed by Fury any time soon.

Fury would destrory joshua, he would never have come up against a fella that big, strong and movement and speed like a middleweight, not to mention the heart of the man,hes more dangerous after he gets knocked down, i wouldnt say joshua gets exposed, but defo taken to school

Maybe not any time soon. But they are both still only in their mid 20's, so there is a lot of time ahead for them yet.

Fury vs AJ for the unified HW titles would be like a dream come true for me.

Yeah, that's not an exaggeration at all. Fury just has above average AT BEST movement for a heavyweight, or better still the fairest thing to say is 'he moves well for his size'.

Joshua is a far better talent than Fury with more power, more speed, better combinations and technique, and more star potential.

AJ, with a year or two more experience KTFO Fury.

The sooner the fight happens the better for Fury although I figure even at this stage in his early career, Joshua can put Fury in big danger. Might not win just yet but give him a few more fight and he knocks Furys block off.

I still find it quite amusing that Fury fans keep talking as if he has so much experience.

Did you watch Fury's last 2 fights?

He can not only move, he can throw stiff, accurate combination punches, from either orthodox or southpaw stance, at the same time.

Compare Chisora's performances against Malik Scott, then against Fury. Scott is a very mobile heavyweight with a long reach and a good jab. Chisora was able to walk Scott down and knock him out, yet couldn't get anywhere near Fury without walking into punishment.

The difference was that Scott moves and jabs. Fury moves and jabs too. But he also switches from orthodox to southpaw and back effortlessly and mixes hooks, crosses and uppercuts in with the jabs from either stance. I can't think of another boxer, at any weight who does that as well as Fury.
