Comments Thread For: Sulaiman: Mayweather Proved He's Best of This Era

The president of the World Boxing Council (WBC), Mauricio Sulaiman, says WBC/WBO/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. proved his point last Saturday night in Las Vegas, setting himself as the "best of this era" with a twelve round unanimous decision over Manny Pacquiao at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Sulaiman watched the fight ringside and says he was impressed with Mayweather's boxing abilities. Pacquiao suffered a shoulder injury during the contest. He came into the fight with an injury, which he further injured in the fourth round. Pacquiao had surgery on Wednesday and it's going to take four to six months for the rehab process.

True Kagami, one just cannot dispute that anymore, he is the best of this era. Sure, people can wonder, would he have beaten a prime Paul Williams or De La Hoya or Mosley earlier on in their careers, but maybe he would have, and he just schooled Pacquaio, supposedly the most dangerous opponent.

Fighting against an opponent who wasn't 100% proves he's the best just because he won?

I was hoping people wouldn't be crazy enough to think this but I guess it was inevitable. Heck, his own performance was nothing special.
