The return of world ranked super middleweight contender Gilberto "Zurdo" Ramirez (31-0, 24 KOs) has been pushed back by two weeks. He was scheduled to return on June 12th against Derek Edwards (27-4-1, 14 KOs), but the match is now taking place on June 26th. He shouldn't have problems here unless he gets caught

Nice stiff test for the young Gilberto... He dominates a guy like Edwards then he is ready for the gatekeepers that are ranked

So it's rescheduled for the night before Bradley-Vargas is expected to take place.

Keeping with the theme is TruTv fights on days before HBO fights.

Undercard fight has been changed to Diego Magdaleno-Jose A. Gonzalez in a 12-rounder, per Dan Rafael...

Lightweight contender Diego Magdaleno will face Jose A. “Chelo” Gonzalez in a 12-round lightweight bout -- which could be sanctioned as a title eliminator -- on June 26, Top Rank vice president Carl Moretti told ESPN.com.
Oscar Valdez has been bumped to a non-televised spot the next night on the Bradley-Vargas fight card.

With Magdaleno-Gonzalez being added to the June 26 card, Moretti said that blue chip featherweight prospect Oscar Valdez (15-0, 14 KOs), 24, Mexico, who was originally scheduled to open the truTV card against an opponent to be determined, will instead fight June 27 in an untelevised bout on the Timothy Bradley Jr.-Jessie Vargas HBO card at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

Nice to see Derek Edwards getting lots of opportunities. Good fighter but was never backed by a big promoter.

Thanks for the info. It sucks that Valdez is not getting any TV coverage though. He needs more TV time, he's one of Top Ranks best prospect.
Valdez>>Magdaleno. But the Magdaleno vs Gonzalez fight is not bad all.

It would have been nice to have seen his fight, but I really like the upgrade though, because while I agree, Valdez's future looks to be better than Magdaleno's, we don't know what kind of opponent it would have been, and there's still a possibility that HBO will show highlights of it.

But I'll take a "contender vs. contender" fight over "prospect vs. TBA".
