A smiling Floyd Mayweather Jr exited the MGM Grand Garden Arena flashing a check for $100 million, the first installment of perhaps a $200 million payday from what could be the top grossing prize fight of all-time. The fight against Manny Pacquiao returned boxing to the international sporting spotlight with A-listers and high rollers ringside and millions more around the world watching on pay-per-view.

The welterweight showdown between two boxers regarded as the best of their generation, hyped mercilessly as the "Fight of the Century", failed to live up to those crushing expectations, but it did deliver an entertaining spectacle that had the capacity crowd of entertainment, sporting and business royalty on its feet roaring.

May 2nd event was really big, bigger than what we thought. Boxing fans around the world learned something and boxing commission should take note of it. We learned that boxing should have two classifications, one is ballroom boxing and the other one is toe to toe boxing. Last May 2nd we saw two fighters with different styles in the ring. Floyd used the ballroom boxing style and Pacman fought applying the toe to toe style. The judges admired the gracefulness of the ballroom boxing and Floyd won the event.

HBO did a good job having Lomachenko on the undercard, but man imagine if they would've had Golovkin/Monroe on instead. Roy Jones brought it up during the telecast that Golovkin's popularity is limited because he's only on HBO.

Pac-Floyd was the best fight I've ever seen, personally.

HBO VP talking about big fights on network television, but he has GGG glued to their stable sadly.

These suits will still want their share of the money once the fighter proves himself to be worthy of being guided by them.
