Comments Thread For: Timothy Bradley-Jessie Vargas Looms For June 27th

Multiple sources have advised BoxingScene.com that a bout between two-division beltholder Tim Bradley (31-1-1, 12KOs) and WBA 'regular' 140-pound champion Jessie Vargas (26-0, 9KOs) is imminent for June 27th at the StubHub Center in Carson, California, in a bout that will be televised by HBO.

Bradley, was last seen on December 6th getting held to a disputed 12-round draw versus Diego Chaves. During that fight he suffered severe swelling on the left side of his face after bumping heads with the Argentinian in the early rounds. Vargas, the reigning WBA super lightweight titlist defeated Antonio Demarco on the Manny Pacquiao-Chris Algieri undercard in Macoa on November 22nd.

Underrated fight. I expect Bradley will take a decision though unless Vargas has learned to throw anything other than jabs.

Jeez, I got Vargas a big underdog in this fight.

Good that he is stepping up, but I dunno man.

Bad style matchup for him too.

Tim Bradley doesn't have the same hunger as he once did. What made Bradley special was his will and conditioning, I don't see the same commitment he once had when he was coming up.
