Froch is awesome, but Calzaghe is one of the best 168 lbs boxers ever.

Hmm...Calzaghe destroyed Jeff Lacy (who was America's next big thing at the time), defeated a prime young Kessler and defeated Bernard Hopkins, who although was, old, he was still a P4P top 10 fighter. In addition to this, notable wins against a shot Roy Jones and a shot Chris Eubank, a young Bika?

Froch destroyed an undefeated Bute, Beat a young prospect in Groves twice, beat pascal, jermain taylor, andre dirrell, and an old shot kessler.

It's a close one...but for me Calzaghe is higher up as an all time great. Froch was schooled by the best fighter in his division (ward)...

Froch fought more top fighters but Calzaghe was the better fighter.

The one thing that will always hurt Froch in the Calzaghe comparisons is that he went 24 pretty gruelling rounds in two close-ish fights with an older Kessler whilst Calzaghe pretty much undressed Kessler when he was undefeated.

Neither are probably ATG's but Calzaghe was the better fighter with perhaps the better standout wins but Froch maybe has a deeper resume in terms of fighting the best fighters he could consecutively, more or less in their prime, win or lose.

froch beat kessler 7-5 in the first fight and 8-4 in the second. calzaghe won 7-5 over kessler. i'm not seeing the vast difference? both guys lost to slick fighters ward and hopkins. both guys have debatable wins froch over dirrell and calzaghe over reid and hopkins. froch has pascal, bute, and abraham while calzaghe has lacy, bika, mitchell, and brewer? seems to be advantage froch. calzaghe has more silly things like 21 title defenses although most were against bums and being undefeated although that's a joke. froch has the more substance though and wasn't afraid like calzaghe.
