PROVIDENCE, R.I. – A proposed mega-bout between heavyweight contenders Mariusz Wach, a former world-title challenger, and David Price scheduled for early June has fallen through after Price reportedly withdrew from the fight Monday despite Wach already agreeing to terms.
“We came to an agreement with representatives from [Price’s promoter] Sauerland Promotion and have been waiting patiently for a contract,” said CES Boxing President and CEO Jimmy Burchfield Sr., who co-promotes Wach with Mariusz Kolodziej of Global Boxing. “Now we hear Price no longer wants to fight. Is he scared to face Wach?”
