Comments Thread For: Anthony Dirrell-Badou Jack: BScene Staff Predictions

Anthony Dirrell prepares for the first defense of his super middleweight belt, taking on resurgent contender Badou Jack. Their scheduled 12-round bouts airs live on Spike TV (Friday, 9:00pm ET/8:00pm CT and local time) from UIC Pavilion in Chicago, Illinois.

The matchup went from a friendly rivalry to a grudge match in a hurry. Dirrell (27-0-1, 22KOs) has had plenty to say in the direction of his opponent, as well as getting in his face during Thursday’s weigh-in before the matter evolved into a senseless brawl.

this is clearly a "look what we have" pbc card where they are trying to hype up dirrell and jacobs. hence the easy opponents.

He is trying to expose casuals to the "name" fighters...

Casuals don't know the difference between Jacobs-truex or Jacobs-Golovkin..

Haymon has to build the brand name of his star fighters, and once known to casuals, then match them tough..

I expect 2016 to be when Haymon really starts matching his guys against each other... Let's the fighters be on tv once or twice, then go for the big fights..

True, but it's not a marquee fight like Jacobs-quillen would be..

Props to jack tonight... He fought a good fight and deserved the victory
