Comments Thread For: Frankie Gavin: Amir Khan Will Smash Chris Algieri Up!

Welterweight contender Frankie Gavin believes former amateur teammate Amir Khan has made the wrong move by avoiding Brook and instead choosing a safer fight against Chris Algieri as he continues to chase a shot at Floyd Mayweather.

Khan was offered the opportunity to face Brook on June 13th, but passed due to Ramadan. Now Khan is heading in the direction of facing former WBO 140-pound champion Chris Algieri, while Gavin has been offered a showdown against Brook on May 30th.

"I don't know what it is with Khan," said Gavin.

It sure is and Gavin fighting Brook is equally disappointing these guys are just hanging around outside the bank and not being fair to the fans .Nobody in their right mind could see these two fights as any sort of challenge ...BORING !

Does this confirm Khan is still fighting Algieri.

Gavin (while not competitive and disappointing) makes sense it's a stay busy fight, all British, in house fight, and he's a top contender by the IBF, so on paper that makes sense in practice it's going to suck a salty sausage. Khan-Algieri make little sense he was dominated by Pac it's a step backwords for Khan.

I agree they are both disappointing fights Algieri was smashed to bits last time out and 'Fun Time Frankie' should not be fighting for ANY world title as he is european level and no more.Although the pair will earn safe money for these fights both are a step backwards ......period !

Former world champion Algieri stands a better chance at beating Khan than u do of beating Brook

Gavin shud worry about his own face gettin smashed
