Like what? If the fight was worth more, someone would have paid more

According to Rafael N'Dam turned down 300k for the fight before the purse bid.

Degale/Dirrel was one example. People complained the bid was way too high.

The main point is if an Andre Berto gets a big payday in with a bum, people complain. That's not the problem. This is. Two really good boxers, vets, and this is what they get?

Pathetic. Purses like this are why Haymon keeps getting more fighters to sign with him.

Are they supposed to split the 100k? That purse reminds me of FNF purses.

Yup, but Lemeuix has a minimum with GBP

This'll be crazy if n'dam really did turn down 300k

It's a learning experience. Don't overestimate your worth, or you could find yourself in a position where you're making less money than you could have if you would've just taken the first offer.

The fight will be at Montreal as well. I'm not sure I'll pay for that but when Lemieux will be world champion, I'd love to see him against GGG or Cotto. Maybe in montreal ?

Ah, that's why the purse bid, leave N'Dam no choice. Now he has to take the $300k offer if it's still there or he'll lose his title shot.

I knew this was all to similar to the Hopkins/Daniels situation. You can use a purse bid to screw over a fighter when there's more money on the table than the winning bid. His promoter wanted the cash and like Carl Daniels' promoter agreed to play along and now got possibly screwed. HNN probably knows if this goes decision he has a less than favorable chance of winning, that's what you get for signing away with some 2-bit promotional outfit that's just looking to make a dime off you.

Still the HBO situation to be resolved, but shouldn't be much longer.
