  • Comments Thread For: Guilty in 4 DWI Cases, Escalante Gets 8 Years Probation

It’s fair to say that 2014 was not a banner year for Antonio Escalante.

The 29-year-old, who’s largely fought in the 122-, 126- and 130-pound divisions, was arrested four times for driving while intoxicated in Texas. Alarmingly, his fourth arrest came after he’d already pleaded guilty to two of those cases.

Now he’s pleaded guilty to the remaining two cases, according to the El Paso Times.

That has led to a harsher sentence — eight years of probation, which is much longer than the 18 months that had been handed down after pleading guilty the first time.

I vaguely remember in the original article, but it wasn't mention in this one. Didn't he get 3 of the 4 OWIs in less than a month and had beer cans falling out of his car door when he opened it to step out of the car for a field sobriety test?

Probation! Instead throw him in prison. Keep him from killing anybody by keeping him off the streets. Right now I'll bet that Escalante's sides hurt from laughing at the criminal justice system.

What a joke, they threw Tyson in prison when he was obviously innocent.
The guy needs some help, but this won't work, if he was getting DWI's after he had a couple already, the guy has a serious problem and/ or no respect for others safety.
Reminds me of the doctor in Ohio a couple years ago ****d 2 young kids and they gave him 8 years probation.
