An avid New York Yankees fan, Paulie "The Magic Man" Malignaggi (21-0, 5 KOs), has returned to the heart of Boston Red Sox country to train once again with famed strength-and-conditioning coach, Mike Boyle, in preparation for Malignaggi's breakthrough June 10th mega-fight against World Boxing Organization light welterweight champion Miguel Cotto (26-0, 22 KOs) at Madison Square Garden. Yeah Paulie forgot to add that Cotto is stronger, more experienced, and more powerful than he is.
And why do I keep getting the feeling Malignaggi is being billed as the good guy in this fight?

I'm going to be really disapointed if cotto loses!!! He has some good fights lined up like castillo and Hatton and both fights could be Fight of the year type of fights for sure. I really hope malignagi doesnt outbox him.Comment

Cotto is gonna grind this kid up and spit him out. Paulie is fast and knows how to box well but lacks punching power and i think he will not last for than 7 rounds.Comment

You sound unsure. Why? If you have seen both fighters in action, I think you should rest asure that Cotto is the clear winner. If Paul had some better defense than maybe I would say that he can get away with out boxing Cotto. That won't be the case though. I'm confident that Cotto will find a way to KO Malignaggi. I keep saying this. Paul's weak and injured right hand can't generate enough power. His jab is outstanding but will it be enough to stop Cotto. I seriously don't think so.Originally posted by SAN D13GO VILLANI'm going to be really disapointed if cotto loses!!! Wow, Paulie's talking allot of KaKA. But it's cool because he's generating much publicity wether he wins or not. As a Brooklyn native I'm happy for Paul Malignaggi for getting this chance. As a proud Puerto Rican I'm shocked that he would say that Cotto is stepping into his domain when Cotto is welcomed there by his PR fans. As we say "Mi casa es su casa"! I admit that Cotto is my favorite boxer but as a realist I still have to go with Cotto. I won't make the same PRcan pride driven mistake I made with Trinidad vs Hopkins. I've thought about it rationally over and over again and I see Cotto winning by KO before the 8th.Originally posted by BIGPOPPAPUMPAn avid New York Yankees fan, Paulie "The Magic Man" Malignaggi (21-0, 5 KOs), has returned to the heart of Boston Red Sox country to train once again with famed strength-and-conditioning coach, Mike Boyle, in preparation for Malignaggi's breakthrough June 10th mega-fight against World Boxing Organization light welterweight champion Miguel Cotto (26-0, 22 KOs) at Madison Square Garden. LOL, I will only comment on the fact that Paulie said Cotto will go into a place where he is unwelcome
Does he know that there is a huge PR population in New York and that they sold out Madison Sq Garden for Trinidad and will do the same for Cotto. Compounded by the fact that the Puerto Rican day parade is the very next day and Cotto is scheduled to be on a float in a parade that annually tops 3 million attendee's.
I think the most Paulie can hope for is for a neutral crowd if a large Italian contigent shows up like they do for Gotti bouts, however I dont think Paulie has captivated the Italian's the way Gotti has, atleast not yet.Comment
