Birmingham’s Frankie Gavin posted a 10-threes win over Bogdan Mitic at Sheffield’s Motorpoint Arena on Saturday night in a marking time bout that he believes has sharpened his tools ahead of a May 9th meeting with Chris van Heerden at Birmingham's Barclaycard Arena.

Gavin moved to 22-1 (13), but he failed to put his man away and has blamed the lack of action on the visitor’s unwillingness to engage.

If Gavin had any potential at the very top he would have put away the bum he fought on Saturday inside 5 rounds.

Instead he plodded through a non-competitive exhibition type spar.

I'm not sure what is more boring; Gavin's style of fighting or his personality.

gavins a nice guy but he isnt good enough, I would not have signed him, although im guessing hearn is thinking to put him against brook, but brook would ruin him.
