Donald Trump and Micky Ward are among the men who’ll be inducted into the New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame later this year.
NJBHOF president Henry Hascup announced the 14-man Class of 2015 after the organization’s monthly meeting Thursday night. In addition to Trump, the polarizing ex-casino mogul who brought numerous huge fights to Atlantic City in the 1980s and 1990s, and Ward, who boxed late legend Arturo Gatti twice in Atlantic City as part of their thrilling trilogy, the group includes former 130-pound contender John Brown, former amateur champion and Dominican Republic boxing official Valentin Contreras, judge George Hill, trainer Bill Johnson, promoter Andre Kut, former middleweight contender Curtis Parker, IBF president Daryl Peoples, HBO Sports executive Mark Taffet and longtime Atlantic City Press boxing writer Dave Weinberg.
