Comments Thread For: Weights From Montrea: Kovalev 174 Lbs, Pascal 175 Lbs

Sergey Kovalev and Jean Pascal both made weight for their anticipated light heavyweight clash Saturday evening at Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec City, Canada.

Kovalev tipped the scales at 174 lbs. for his first fight as a three-belt light heavyweight titlist (and fifth overall defense of any belt). Pascal, former king of all light heavyweights, came in right at the 175 lb. divisional limit. [Click Here To Read More]

Just wondering, but as Pascal couldn't beat Hopkins in two attempts, while Kovalev totally dominated Hopkins, what is it that people are seeing to make them think that Pascal has even a chance of giving Kovalev a run for his money?

Not saying Pascal wins, i don't think he does but if you're a fan of boxing then you should know it doesn't work like that. Styles make fights and triangle theories are the worst way of predicting a fight when it comes to good level fighters.

Isn't that the quintessential triangle theory though? Pascal has a lot of speed and power that Hopkins at this stage doesn't possess. He'll be dangerous early on, and there's a strong su****ion that Kovalev doesn't have the greatest chin.

I know it's a triangle, and though i find this fight intriguing i just don't see Pascal making it through 12. I certainly don't see it 50/50 like Abel Sanchez does.
